Benefits
The conference is intent on promoting and showcasing new talent in the Middle East. The participation of art programs and schools from the region and the attendance of students are crucial to the objectives of Kitabat. Attending this event is important because a number of distinguished and internationally reputed scholars and professionals will be presenting and discussing Arabic typography, education and design in the region. This will be an enriching experience for both faculty and students. In addition to the lectures, there will be workshops and exhibitions that will inspire and expand the knowledge of all participants. To further the exchange of ideas, the organizers have developed a brief for a student project that can be undertaken by design programs in the region.

Theme: Kitabat (writings)
We would like to invite your students to interpret the theme of 'Kitabat' in a way that reflects their cultural and personal identities. The projects can be done in an illustrative, typographic, or in any other symbolic way. The projects can be undertaken independently or as part of a course supervised by a professor. The submitted projects will be selected by a jury for inclusion in an exhibition of 'student work' that will be showcased during the Kitabat Conference.
